This is a recurring campaign that aims to support the administrative and maintenance activities of the Portal Mãe Mirra community space. Our initiatives aim, as a priority, to offer free early childhood education activities and Atlantic Forest regeneration projects.
The Mother Mirra Portal community center located in Uruçuca, in the cocoa growing area of South of Bahia (near Ilhéus and Itacaré), in an area of 200,000 m², with 150,000 m² of Atlantic Forest, next to the Conduru State Park.
Our actions aim at human development in the physical, vital, mental, psychic, spiritual, and social aspects, based on the principles of sustainability from Agroecology, Permaculture, and the earth knowledge of indigenous peoples; the principles of Integral Education (as proposed by Mirra Alfassa) and the practical philosophy of Integral Yoga.
Since the beginning of activities, in August 2021, renovations and new constructions have been carried out to structuring of physical space, which today has three collective accommodations of 24 m², 1 semi-private room of 12 m², communal kitchen, ecological bathroom, changing room with a dry bathroom, a conventional bathroom and two showers, camping area, tool room, a shed of 75 m² for multidisciplinary activities and an outdoor play area for children.
In November 2022, regular and free workshops for children aged 3 to 14 from the Ramal do Pé de Serra region were initiated. The first cycle, called “Rainbow Childhood: matter, energy, and vibration,” aims to stimulate self-knowledge through the language of art, technology, science, and the environment. The multidisciplinary approach seeks to unite ancestral and contemporary knowledge and practices, promoting the future positive contribution of these individuals to the environments in which they live.
Through dialogue with the local community and partnership with other social institutions in the region, we work to enable projects in the areas of early childhood education, regeneration of the Atlantic forest, female entrepreneurship, rescue and preservation of ancestral knowledge.
WHY DO WE NEED YOUR HELP?
Portal Mãe Mirra is in the structuring phase and does not yet obtain any form of income from its activities. All the work carried out to date has been voluntary and altruistic in nature, seeking to establish the foundations so that potential projects can come to fruition and generate resources for the space and its future partners.
Our administrative and maintenance costs, however, exceed 6 thousand reais per month, and there is still a need for new hires and investments so that we can fully carry out the mission of offering an environment conducive to human development, individual and collective, in all its aspects. spheres. Our initiatives aim, as a priority, to offer free early childhood education activities and Atlantic Forest regeneration projects.
